We’ve spent a couple years building a new division at Jet City Device Repair doing iPad & Chromebook repairs for schools and businesses. We believe it’s a fantastic service and we’d like to greatly expand our customer base. To make that happen, we’re looking for a highly-motivated outside sales person to grow our business by $1 million over the next 24 months.
About Jet City Device Repair
JCD was started in a Seattle basement in 2007 and today has 4 retail stores in 3 cities plus 2 repair depots dedicated to bulk mail-in repairs (schools and businesses). We have 20 employees and expect to do just over $3 million in sales in 2017.
There are two main resources I’d recommend to learn about our company:
You will initially be the lone sales person convincing schools to use our iPad and Chromebook repair service. You will report directly to the CEO of the company.
We currently do about $250K/year in school device repair sales. Your task is to grow that recurring revenue by $1 million by the end of the 2018-2019 school year. But this could be just the beginning. The school device repair business is about a $150 million dollar industry and growing fast as more and more schools push toward a technology based curriculum. And that’s just schools. Real estate companies, restaurants, courier & delivery companies, hospitals and many more businesses are increasing their device counts.
The possibilities for this position, and Jet City as a company, are enormous.
Primary Job Duties
- Cold calling possible customers.
- Doing trade shows (about 3-5 per year).
- Exploring other marketing channels.
- Following up on leads generated from trade shows and other marketing channels.
- Coordinate with technicians & account managers to provide a great customer experience.
- Setting up and maintaining a good CRM system.
We’d love you to have the following traits:
- 3-5 years of sales experience in an established company.
- You really enjoy doing sales.
- Great with people and like technology.
- Preferably have a passion for education.
- Willing to work hard.
- Very organized.
- Highly reliable.
We plan to provide very good compensation to someone that is successful. The base pay will be modest (likely in the $35K region – maybe a little more, maybe a little less) but we will have a good commission structure. If you can achieve the goal of $1 million in additional sales by May of 2019, you could expect to be pulling in about $10K per month in just commissions. That is our goal.
Here is a basic idea of what you could expect:
- Base Pay: ~$35,000
- Commission: Likely 15% of monthly profits.
- Paid vacation.
- Health & Dental insurance.
- 401K plan (hopefully) in place by the end of 2017.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Possibility to work remotely.
That last point is important. We would prefer someone is based out of our Chicago office (at least initially), but if the right person comes along we would be willing to let them work wherever they want. The main goal is to find someone really good at this job. If that means they want to live and work in Montana or Miami, then we don’t mind as long as they are great sales.
